About the Author
A dietitian, writer, and business owner, Emily Hirsch is uniquely poised to provide a wealth of well-researched knowledge to help people improve the quality of their lives. She is passionate about bringing lackluster research to life by articulating its key points in a way that deeply resonates with the reader.
Emily received her undergraduate degree in dietetics from the University of Rhode Island and her Masters of Science with distinction in nutrition education from California State University, Chico. She began practicing as a registered dietitian 17 years ago in New York City, providing medical nutrition therapy for patients in the Intensive Care and Critical Care Units. In addition to her work at major hospitals within the New York City area, Emily was a regular contributor to “Heart and Health Reports”, a monthly publication widely distributed by practicing cardiologists.
After her in-patient clinical work, Emily focused much of her career in out-patient counseling and most recently as an adjunct professor at the Cabarrus College of Health Sciences.
Emily is the founder and owner of South Charlotte Nutrition, a practice dedicated to various nutrition services including counseling, medical nutrition therapy, and corporate wellness. Emily brings compassion and a wide breadth of knowledge to her private practice clients as she helps people navigate the ever-changing health and wellness landscape. South Charlotte Nutrition has partnered with many community businesses including Queens University, Partner MD and Carolina Orchards.
When not working, Emily can be found outdoors, hiking, biking, and swimming while taking in all of the vitamin O (oxygen) she can get with her husband and two children.
