In fact, it’s GNC’s number one bestselling pre-workout. What sets LIT apart? To build the hype and answer some burning questions, I sat down with GNC’s Tyler McGlasson MK, CISSN, designer of the new LIT V2, to learn more about what’s new.

Rachel: So Tyler, tell me what makes LIT V2 different from original LIT?
Tyler: We’ve made a bunch of updates to the original LIT formula that all work together to make for a significantly enhanced experience. As an example, we’ve doubled the dose of creatine monohydrate from 1.5g to 3g. This is a more efficacious dose in line with recent research to drive increased workout intensity, support muscle gains, and boost the performance improvements you’re after.
LIT V2 also features new cognitive support from Cognizin®, a non-stim nootropic. This was an ingredient customers told us they loved in their energy drinks so we wanted to bring that to our top pre-workout as well. Paired with 250mg caffeine as both fast-acting anhydrous and targeted-release ZumXR – you’re locked in for immediate and targeted release energy, focus, and alertness. The feedback across the board has been clear that the energy system of the LIT V1 was one thing our customers loved so that remains the same here in V2
Senactiv® is also making its Beyond Raw debut to enhance exercise performance and extend time to exhaustion. This is a super cool ingredient that has two different clinical trials1, 2 showing it helps you push hard at the end of your workout even with an incredibly low dose of only 50mg! Of course, you’ll still find familiar ingredients like L-citrulline for those muscle pumps and beta alanine to buffer the negative effects of lactic acid. And we’re adding 250mg of electrolytes to enhance the hydration effects of LIT V2 plus Astragin(R) to facilitate nutrient absorption.

Cost
Rachel: Considering these updates, will V2 be more expensive than original LIT?
Tyler: Great question. When V2 begins lining the shelves starting mid-late September. You’ll find it for the same great price as the original LIT formula.
LIT V2 Flavors
Rachel: Oh, that’s great news! Now, I know flavor has been a big driver for purchase in the past. With the new formula, are fan favorites here to stay? Or will we see newness, like color and flavor changing LIT?
Tyler: Yes on both counts! You’ll still find fan favorite flavors like Gummy Worm, Blue Raspberry, and Watermelon, but we’ll be launching V2 on TikTok with a brand new Gummy Shark flavor!
Rachel: Gummy Shark? What a blast from the past!
Tyler: Yeah, we’re really excited about it! Our flavor team spent months getting the flavor just right, and consumed A LOT of Gummy Sharks along the way to make sure we were staying true to a nostalgic favorite and doing it justice. I know there might be concern for having two “gummies” but these are as different from each other as actual worms from real sharks so I highly recommend giving them both a try!
Rachel: I bet! Any other flavors you’re looking forward to?
Tyler: Yes! I’m very excited about POG – which stands for passion, orange, and guava which is super popular on the West Coast, where I’m from. I grew up drinking POG juice and advocated hard for its inclusion in this launch. I can’t wait for our athletes to try out! For the in-store launch, we’ll also have Strawberry Lemonade.
