About the Author
A health and wellness enthusiast herself, Lauren Green DCN, RDN, LDN, CPT is on a mission to provide dietary supplements built on scientific evidence to help people reach their personal and performance goals. She is passionate about evaluating and applying science to dietary supplement design, especially related to weight management and general health and wellness. She also enjoys creating content based on these findings to help explain the benefits of the products she designs.
She received her Doctorate of Clinical Nutrition from Rutgers University which advanced her understanding and knowledge of clinical nutrition. At Rutgers her research focused on exploring relationships between select biomarkers and blood pressure in women who were postmenopausal. She completed her Master of Science, Clinical Dietetics from the University of Pittsburgh, Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics from Mansfield University, and has been a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist since 2010. She is also an ACSM certified personal trainer and recently completed a certification to become a kettlebell instructor. In addition, Lauren is a competitive figure competitor and powerlifter (PR deadlift = 455 pounds Muscle)
Lauren currently serves as Director, Global Product Design at GNC Corporate Headquarters. In this role, she is responsible for managing projects and activities focused on the design and development of supplements in the Men’s, Women’s, and weight management brands such as Total Lean and Body Dynamix. In addition, she oversees International product design by designing products for our international markets that are effective, compliant, and competitive.
Prior to joining GNC, she spent time as a hospice dietitian and as a retail dietitian in a grocery store setting. As a RDN, Lauren also has experience as a nutritionist counseling individuals with a multitude of health goals.
Although there isn’t much of it, in her free time, you’ll catch her tending to the animals on her farm, spending time with her children, working out, crocheting, or trying a new recipe. She lives by the motto that ‘there aren’t any bad foods, just bad portions’ and includes all kinds of foods into her balanced lifestyle.
