WE THOUGHT YOU’D ASK… OUR EXPERTS ANSWER FAQs ABOUT CLINICAL RESEARCH
What is a clinical study?
A clinical study is a type of research that helps scientists learn if something, like a vitamin or supplement, is safe and if it really works. People join the study and follow a plan to test how their bodies react. These studies follow special rules to make sure everything is done carefully and fairly.
Why should you volunteer to participate in a clinical study?
When you join a clinical study, you help scientists learn more about health and how products work. Your help can make vitamins and supplements better for everyone. You might also get free health checks, try new products, and sometimes earn money or gifts for your time.
How much time is required to participate in a clinical study?
Most of our studies don’t take up much of your time or change your daily routine. They are made to fit into your normal life. Each study is a little different, so check the links above to see what is needed for the one you’re interested in.
Is it safe to participate in a clinical study?
Most clinical studies are minimal to low risk. The risks for participating in each study will be noted in the details. All research studies listed have been approved by an independent Institutional Research Board (IRB).
What is an IRB?
An IRB is a group of experts who make sure a study is safe and fair. They check that the study treats people with respect and protects their privacy. Every study must get approval from the IRB before it can start.
Why are clinical studies important?
Clinical studies help us learn if a product formula really works. They give scientists proof so people can trust what the product says it will do. These studies also help companies make their products better for everyone.
What is a randomized, placebo-controlled trial?
This is the gold standard for clinical research. This type of study is a fair way to test if something works. People are put into two groups by chance. One group gets the real product, and the other gets a fake one (called a placebo). No one knows who gets what until the study is done. This helps make sure the results are honest and clear.
What does "double-blind" mean?
In a double-blind study, no one knows who is getting the real product and who is getting the placebo, not the people in the study or the researchers. This helps keep the study fair and the results honest.
What is the Live Well Research Institute?
The Live Well Research Institute is a center of excellence, dedicated to running clinical studies, publishing peer-reviewed papers, and testing cutting-edge formulas to advance supplement science.

What is a peer-reviewed publication, and why does it matter?
A peer-reviewed publication is a research study that has been evaluated by independent experts in the field before being published in a scientific journal. This process ensures the research is credible, high-quality, and free from bias.
